The Lessons I Have Learned in Life

I am reflecting today on the things that I have learned in my life. This one I learned last night- My brother has the power to break a kids helmet, give him a concussion, and it is still a fair hit in Lacrosse. Here is the rest of the lessons I have learned: As much as I want to be the size I was when I was 16, I am 26 and it just ain't happening!. Everything happens for a reason...even if it hurts while it is happening. Money is not what is most important in a job...it is the fun and passion you have for what you do. Family will love you even on your ugliest days. Good friends are hard to come by, but once you find them, they're hard to get rid of:). Cigars and whisky will let you taste it for a full 4 days after combination. No distance is too great for love, friendship, or family. Once a snowman is built...that sucker is hard and hurts to attack. Wanting to be accepted by someone who doesnt even accept themselves is a battle destined to be lost. It's not the dead people you have to worry about, it is the alive one's that will get you. Being thankful is key to eliminating a prison of self-pity. (that one was deep.) I really hate the texture of refried beans and calamari...not together...but they both are nasty. My parents are usually right, even when the truth sucks. Generally, relationships rock at the beginning, until you meet who you are really with - not as pretty. It is possible to wear out a yellow lab. (learned that one yesterday) Speak softly and carry a big stick - OK that one isnt mine:). Well, I gotta get to work. If you have any other words of wisdom...comment:)

Interesting entry. Life IS life learning lessons. If you don't approach it that way then you're probably not living. Making the best out of life is doing more than just breathing and taking it however the chips fall. It's picking up those chips, analyzing them-taking what you learn and then moving along. Never being the victim (even when you are victimized) but challenging yourself to do something different when the opportunity presents itself again. LIVE UP TO THAT CHALLENGE EVERYDAY even when it's easier to repeat history. Hence, that's why they call it practice. When you do things like that you make life an adventure; an unchartered journey that is always unfolding. It evolves like an unpredictable movie that everyone wants to see. And you, YOUR BIGGEST CRITIC, can sit back at the end of the day-read your script and be satisfied.
